The Fowey Rivers Association exists to bring together all the clubs, syndicates and fishing associations along the river - and work with Riparian owners, South West Water, The Environment Agency, West Country Rivers Trust and the small army of volunteers doing clearing work, habitat renovation, surveys and conservation.

The River Fowey is a prime Cornish spate river rising on Bodmin Moor about 1 mile North-East of Brown Willy and flowing south to the sea at Fowey.
It has a catchment of over 65 sq/miles including its tributaries -
The Warleggan River
The St Neot River
The Trenant Stream &
The River Lerryn
There are a number of reservoirs along the river's course, notably Colliford Reservoir, Siblyback Reservoir and Park Pit - all managed by South West Water who use the River Fowey to connect these to Restormel Water Works at Lostwithiel, about a mile above the tidal limit.
